  1. Antigone Rising – We Wish You A Merry Christmas

    When Antigone Rising said they were going to do a cover for fans, we didn’t know they were going to dig back to the 16th century to find a special one. Here is a very intimate home performance of We Wish You A Merry Christmas. Somebody should really sign on that bell ringer before Bruce Springsteen tries to get him in the E Street Band. We hope this song and post finds everyone doing well for the holidays, Merry Christmas, enjoy!

    “”We Wish You a Merry Christmas” is a popular secular sixteenth-century English carol from the West Country of England.[1] The origin of this Christmas carol lies in the English tradition where wealthy people of the community gave Christmas treats to the carolers on Christmas Eve such as ‘figgy puddings‘ that were very much like modern day Christmas puddings.[2][3] It is one of the few English traditional carols that makes mention of the New Year celebration.”

  3. KnockDown Ninja and Antigone Rising Announce Winners of 23 Red Starbucks Card Giveaway

    Last week KnockDown Ninja and Antigone Rising announced the winners of the $23 Red Starbucks gift card giveaway! There were three winners in all, Cecily C. was the first one to send back a photo of the lucky card.  The cards were given away in honor of 23 Red , the latest album by Antigone Rising. Two songs from the album are being played in Starbucks worldwide.

    In addition to the Starbucks gift cards, the band is also going to do a special cover song for fans and play an impromptu show in the New York City subway.

  5. There is Good News and Good News

    In regards to the first ever KnockDown Ninja, KnockDown Ninja promotion, we have good news and good news.

    First the good news:

    • We achieved the first tier which means co-founder Dan Voell is volunteering at the Red Cross of Milwaukee.
    • We achieved the second tier which means a free promotion for anyone who shared. Email at talk@knockdownninja.com if you were a participant and have something amazing you would like to do.
    • Brian Cole is the recipient of our second ever Top Ninja award. He will receive a KnockDown Ninja shirt.

    The second good news is that we did not achieve the second tiers three and four of this promotion:

    • A KnockDown Ninja band would have been really bad news. Bad news. We would have needed to figure out what to do with a Guitar player a harmonica and a cowbell.
    • Similarly, having not achieved the Chippendales tier means that instead of p90x and countless hours in the gym, all KnockDown Ninja co-founders will be hard at work talking to amazing bands who have amazing endeavors they would like to collaborate on with fans.

  6. Antigone Rising made it with 1 day to spare !!

    Antigone Rising reached their goal of 160 with the help of some GREAT fans!

    Antigone Rising will play 5 songs – acoustic – in a NYC subway and will stream/post on youtube!

  7. Tiers Tiers Tiers

    Ween is closing in on 1,000 shares! 19 left to go.
    We have already reached the first two tiers of 500 and 900. The Warwick Hotel in Downtown Denver just threw in a free room if we get to 1300!

  9. Top Ninja, Starbucks, and Free Promotions

    Joomla Day Midwest – First Ever Top Ninja!
    Luis Hernandez from 523design.com was the first ever Top Ninja, congratulations to Luis! He let his award ride on the Roulette Table at Potawatomi Bingo and Casino.  As any Top Ninja would assume, black would be the color to bet on.  Unfortunately, the award did not last too long. We thank Luis for participating and helping discuss Joomla Day Midwest which will hopefully lead to more tech conferences and tech knowledge in our region.

    We reached 23 shares for this promotion (On the first day!) which means one lucky participant was chosen to receive a  $23 Red Starbucks card in honor of Antigone Risings most recent album release 23 Red.  Also don’t forget Starbucks has added “Everywhere Is Home” and “Gracefully” to in store play in all their stores worldwide keep your ears open next time you are getting coffee.

  10. Last Week at KnockDown Ninja

    We launched on 11.1.11 with a new version of our website. We are extremely excited about the results to date. We have already achieved four tier knockdowns, over 50 shares and a write-up by CBS Interactive.  In order to test out our own concept we did a promotion for KnockDown Ninja. We really, really hope that this promotion doesn’t get to 500 shares.  The first tier was to make the Milwaukee office volunteer with a community outreach program..

    One of the consequences of doing a KnockDown Ninja promotion is forced undertakings.  I have wanted to volunteer for about 2 years now. I just haven’t had the time. And when I try to find an opportunity it seems like too much effort or too much of a time commitment. Since you shared the promotion, I HAVE TO DO IT, which has forced me over that small hump which was getting in my way. I am happy that you did it because now I am stepping out of my comfort zone to do something and take action.

    I was planning on a 2 hour soup kitchen stint but instead became inspired while looking through http://www.volunteermatch.org/ I signed on for 50 hours of volunteering with the Red Cross.  I am going to be trained in local disaster relief assistance.
